Contractor Selection Policy

We anticipate there will be times we need to engage external expertise to complete or supplement our current service offering. As per our commitment to quality work, employee wellness, and community support, the following requirements guide our contracted work decisions:

Choosing a contractor

  • Preference will be given to proven contractors (previous employees or contractors who have scored well on Evaluation and Feedback).

  • Local qualified providers rank over distant qualified providers.

  • In keeping with our commitments as a Living Wage employer, providers that are committed to a Living Wage will be given preference.

  • Efforts will be made to seek out qualified service providers from underrepresented populations.

  • Contractor is aligned with our corporate values.

Contracts & Commitments:

  • Signed NDA and/or contractor agreement.

  • Contract to include concise terms for duration, deadlines and compensation.

  • Include contingency plan for delayed timelines on either side.

  • Contractors will abide by our workflow process to submit work.

  • Contractors provide their own equipment, agree to be reasonably available for clarification, communication and interaction for the duration of the term.

  • Contracted workers do not benefit from profit sharing or extended benefits.

  • We will make opportunities to volunteer, socialize, and celebrate with the full team.

  • Contracted workers may not be included in all company events or meetings, but will be included in meetings pertinent to the project itself.

  • Accommodations will be made for those wishing to work on-site, where appropriate.

  • Independent contractors are verified to either work on a time-bound basis, or else split their time with work for other clients. Contractors not meeting either criteria will be offered employment.
